In this mode, you have to do different challenges such as earn so many points by doing stunts, collecting a set number of gears, and so on. Can You Handle The ChallengeĪs well as the Adventure Mode, Hot Wheels Velocity X also has a challenge mode for you to play. This mode has story sections in it too which move the plot along. These range from destroying cars, collecting items, winning races, and so on and there are never the two same kind of tasks back-to-back to it does keep your interested better than you would think. In total there are 14 missions in the game and each mission has a set of tasks for you to complete. This is a story-based mode set across five different areas where you have to complete a variety of tasks. The main game mode in Hot Wheels Velocity X is the Adventure Mode. I know that my son would find this kind of story interesting and I am sure most other kids would feel the same.
The story is clearly aimed at kids and it is like something that would be on a show on Nick and that is cool. This along with a prototype car was stolen and now teenager and racing prodigy Max Justice (a badass name by the way) needs to try and get it back. No, I am not talking about the Krabby Patty formula! I am talking about the Velocity X formula which makes cars go double their speed.
Based on the popular series of Hot Wheels toys, I am sure there were many kids who saw this on shelves back in the day and were excited to get it. PS2, GC, and PC are pretty much the same game, but it is the Game Cube version that I was putting through its paces.
